While well-lit catwalk models can get away with taking the metal to the max, for everyday wear, less is sometimes more.
Remember Gillian McKeith and the Bacofoil blunder? In her billowing, floor-length tinfoil monstrosity she looked like she was about to be put on to roast.
So go easy on the top-to-toe effect. If your budget is less bullion and more fool's gold, New DEBORAH ARTHURS Look's pleated lame dress and skirt is a brilliant way to shine, while Topshop's blue and goldleaf print puff ball mini (Pounds 50) is a subtle way to go for gold.
